WHERE ARE ALL THE FANS!?

OK, I know I am not the only person in this dynasty that loves, and I mean LOVES, American Idol. Please tell me I am not the only one? I know my mother watches it and my sister...anyone else?

I almost boy-cotted this show...again. I still can't believe that they voted Chris off...I truly think he could have won the whole thing. I'm not too worried because someone like him is bound to get a contract...the sooner the better in my opinion. But, I am glad that Taylor and Katherine are in the top two. C'mon....anyone feeling the McPhever here? I love her voice- she reminds me of a younger Norah Jones...I would absolutely buy one her albums.

Taylor...gotta love Taylor. He looks like a chubby Robert DeNiro...well from the eyes up anyway. He, to me, is a breath of fresh air. In my profile I said I listen to any kind of music except classical. BUT, I am tired of the hip hoppers...I listen to hip hop and R&B almost everyday when I am flipping through stations and I have to tell you...they are all starting to sound the same. The world needs and American Idol like Taylor. His music would be so much fun, so full of energy and we do need some Bob Seger type of music coming back. Don't you think?

OK, so now you all know that I am a freak when it comes to American Idol. I even managed to get my hubby hooked even though he would NEVER admit it. So, if anyone out there watches it faithfully like me (besides Mom), just know that I am excited for this week but also sad because this is the final week. I wouldn't mind if either one of them won because I think they are both spectacular, but I am really rooting for Taylor. Let's Go Soul Patrol!!!!!!!

This is the first season I've ever watched, and I'm surprised at how "into" it I am. My hubby watches with me, and we're rooting for Taylor. I do love me some Katharine, but I think Taylor is going to win. I love her voice, and I'm sure she'll make it big in the industry without being the idol. Taylor has a huge following, though, being from the south and you know us southerners - we back a brutha up.

I DID boycott the show when Chris got voted off. (Actually, I just don't have cable, but I would've boycotted). I like Katherine and Taylor both, but I won't be heartbroken either way. Chris was better.

I think just about everybody watches it. We were doing an interview for our new teacher next year, and after we interview, we have to give them a rating on all these points, and then compare. I was giving higher ratings than everyone in the room, and at one point I said "I feel like Paula Abdul", and everyone laughed. Either they were just trying to humor the sweet little first year, or they are addicted, too.

Krissy you have to go to www.boomama.blogspot.com Boomama (a favorite of mine) gives a recap every single week and predicts who will be voted off. She's eerily always right. So go read her - and our house is nutso over AI, as are Les and Jer although theyve boycotted it since Chris got voted off. And they never thought Taylor should have been on it. I think we'll see Kathryn in movies, or Broadway or something - she reminds me of a Norah Jones/Catherine Zeta Jones mix. Theyre both great and Im sad they both can't win. But then I'd never vote anyone off the island either.

Well! I'm sooooo glad I'm not a freak of nature - an early (excuse me) middled aged women hooked on American Idol. I think you know how I feel. The minute Taylor walked into his final audition results, blowing that juice harp, he had me. Both you girls know he's been my favorite from that moment. I have to say it makes me sick Chris isn't standing there right next to him, but that would be an impossible situation because Chris is unbelievably talented and I love, love his story. A parts salesman who could sing and no one knew it. My kind of story. B.u.t....if Taylor doesn't win, I'm going to be pretty disgusted. Kathryn's got a beautiful voice but Taylor MOVES me ... makes me want to jump and shout .. and that's what AI should be all about. Moving people.

Brenda, don't be surprised. American Idol is almost, and let me emphasise the "almost", as addictive as blogging.

Krissy - you stirred it up girl! Good job!

Sorry, Kris...I'm not done.

Back a brutha up - I love that, Brenda. I love about every other word that comes out of your mouth. I'm telling you, Dorothea Benton Frank.

And Mandy, honestly, you'd be a perfect Paula - you're so sweet, no matter how awful they sound, you'd find something encouraging and uplifting to say -- that's why God decided you should be a teacher.

Bev! You know that dream trip you and I are going to do to the Outer Banks? (Some day? When we have no other obligations and can actually afford it?) I have an idea. Let's try out for Survivor. We might get lucky! I'm up for it if you are.

And Lacey, too true. American Idol needs to be year round. It should be on EVERY Tuesday night.

Now I'm done. You can have your blog back Kris!

Yes, Barb, it is addictive. I didn't really care for it at first, because I couldn't stand the reactions after some of the auditions. More appropriate for Jerry Springer, in my opinion.

Yeah, Brenda. But the amazing thing is, and I don't know how the judges do it (Simon's input I suspect), the final few are always just amazingly wonderful. I tell you, I'm addicted to the whole process. Love every minute of it and I don't know why they don't do this show year round. Heaven knows, summer TV leaves a lot to be desired and this show is second in ratings to the Super Bowl. I wonder if they'll ever let PEOPLE decide what whould be on TV.

Krissy, Glad you brought American Idol up. Last night my assistant director of nursing and I were working the unit. Just recently we got a new administrator who immediately announced that we can't have food or drinks at the nurses station anymore. Trying to comply with his ridiculous rule, (we seldom can take breaks)I told my ADON I would go to the break room to eat. She stared at me like I was some kind of dumb, dumb, and said "It's American Idol night, the last one before we vote! We're eating here where we can watch it some." Sometimes we just have to take a stand on what's important. At first I thought Katharine would win. She certainly has a voice that qualifies. But the more I hear Taylor I'm changing my mind. She gives us a beautiful song, but he gives himself. I think he will be the next American Idol. Love, Grandma.

Krissy, I've tried to be a fan, I really have. But it just hasn't worked. However, I'm pulling for Katharine (even though I'm not watching it) :)

Krissy, After reading all the blogging revues about AI, I agreed with Brenda and BooMama and most of our family that Taylor would win. I can't say brutha like you do, Brenda, but youall sure knew how to call it. If I ever need a political analyst, will know who to get.
